About Miriam Iken Goodman

Miriam Iken Goodman is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She specializes in working with people with eating disorders, young adults, and families. Miriam’s calming and approachable manner help to create a welcoming space for therapy. She enjoys learning about each person’s history and the challenges that interfere with their happiness and goals.

Miriam works to empower clients by exploring obstacles that may get in the way of living life fully. Therapy can be helpful with identifying unhealthy patterns of thought or behavior. These can impact quality of living as well as developing coping skills. Miriam founded Spur Counseling in 2019 with hopes of creating space for people to move forward and reach their goals.

Miriam earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As well as her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She also works as a Primary Clinician for adults with eating disorders at Walden Behavioral Care.

Miriam lives with her husband (also a therapist!) in the Boston suburbs.
